I have a 1995 740i -- recently having problems with my radio AM/FM/Cassette -- AM/FM cut out--use scan/seek mode--appears to not lock on to any station--sometimes I can shut radio off--turn back on it works-or toggle between AM/FM it sometimes it will work again. Cassette does not work either. The CD player works fine. All LCD appear on screen--

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what might be problem?

Found a guy who does repairs at http://www.radiomanrepair.com/ Note: I have not done business with this shop, but looks promising.

I'm having exactly the same problem with the radio in my 1995 740i - it cuts in and out (mostly out), if I turn the radio off then on, it will sometimes kick back in, etc. Did you dind out what was wrong with yours? One thing I noticed is that the display on the cassette player (which also has the equalizer-type controls) fades out or goes out completely when the radio cuts out. Since the controls on the radio all seem to work fine, I thought maybe I'm seeing the result of a loose connection between the two units or a bad power connection to the cassette unit. (Are they really separate units, or do they just look like it from the driver's seat?)

So that leads to my question - since I can't see how to take the radio components out of the dash, I can't check for loose connections - how do I get the radio components out?
