Wires caught between block and transmission

Talk about stupid ! I've just rebuilt a complete 4.3 V6 engine, for my 93 pre vortex S10. I fitted it with the usual difficulties but this evening noticed I had trapped two wires between the top of the block and the bell housing. I've searched my manual and can't find what these would be going to! One is black with a thin white stripe and the other is pinkish orange. They come out of the wiring harness together with the wires and connectors that fit to the oil pressure switch, the distributor, the knock sensor on the side of cylinder head and a thicker black ground wire that connects to the rear of the head.
I'm hoping that I don't have to split the motor/gearbox - again !
Can anyone tell me what these wires go to or are they connected to each other via a connector, or a fuse etc, that is now inside my bell housing. I'm hoping that I can cut them and splice them back into the harness. If they do have loose ends inside the bell housing I have no idea where they would be connected to.
I could send you a photo if needed.
Thanking you for your time.

Whatever you do, you have to pull them out. Loosen the bolts just enough to get them out of there. Right now they will be pushing the two out of alignment and you'll destroy main bearings, seals, and transmission input shaft. They gotta come out ASAP.
