Toyota MR-S TRD progress thread

Hi. I just got this and the GT Wing Evo VIII a few days ago. So far the interior from a botched project has been completed and the body parts have bees assembled. Wheels will be the 17" Racing Hart C-2s made by XS Tuning. Decals will be the Sponsor/Tuner decals available from pcmodeler. The interior has been finished with Tamiya paints in the colors of Blue-violet, Semi-Gloss Black, and Matte Black. The color will be revealed later on in the progress :naughty: . Nothing special, but another fun build for me to share with you. Enjoy! :smile:

That's a pretty paint, would go nice with some white rims.

This comes with the TRD kit yah? The wheels look great, and interior combo looks good too!

It's not too bad for a Fujimi! I'd buy another one in an instant. The bumpers are fiddly but nothing agood superglue and masking tape can't fix!:)

I have too many kits I plan on building yet!:evillol: Anyway, I made a little progress on this one. Tamiya Supra mirrors to replace the ugly stock ones, body primed and ready for paint (although the pictures don't show it). I decided not to do the raised headrest thing with this one however it will show up on a later kit:smile:. The brake calipers have been painted to represent Endless brakes. This kit probably won't end up with a GT Wing since I don't see how a non-JGTC MR-S would need one but it will have some sort of a wing. Thanks:smile:.

Hello! I finally got around to working on stuff again! Thanks to those that encouraged me!! :sunglasse :sunglasse The base coat (Duplicolor Light Iris) has been applied and the color coat will be applied possibly tomorrow. Here's a couple of pics...

looks great tonio. nice, duplicolor IMHO, goes on smoother than tamiya paints. but they can be expensive.

Hi all. I finally painted it yesterday; I used a combination of 2 different fingernail polishes to get the color you see below. One of the colors is a flip-flop purple to blue. The base coat is shown in an earlier post. Thanks for looking. :smile:

WOW! That color is to die for! I have been really afraid to do a chameleon scheme color...You pulled it off great.

hi! Yeah, I'll be keeping those wheels on! The color will look a bit better once the clear is applied. I'm really glad I used Supra side morrors instead of the ugly stock ones!:)

Looking good, the chameleon color isn't too over-the-top and fits the character of the car. Wheels fit it well too. Nice. :smokin:
