Need a topic for an english paper

I've been scouring TV and the web for like 2 hours trying to come up with something interesting to write about and I'm FAILING. Has to be current and controversial and the format is Rogerian argument. I have to be able to present both sides of the issue. NSICPhACNipH(*@$H$R@(*HR@*(RY~! Ahhh, that feels better. Any ideas?

I'm sorry, I don't know what Rogerian means, but could you do something on animal or firearm rights?

There have been recent new studies into the benefits of male circumcision. New studies cite much lower incidences of HIV in circumcised men. COuld it be coming back into vogue? What about anguish and suffering on the part of the patient? Is it worth it from an aesthetic viewpoint? etc.

I'd write about how stupid emissions laws are. I keep saying Particles Per Mile! Total emissions volume is just as important as the concentration of pollutants within that volume!
But no, the stupid people who write these stupid laws say Particles Per Million - only the concentration of pollutants matter! The volume of exhaust doesn't matter!
And that is why they are stupid, the volume is just as important as the concentration, and they're stupid for ignoring that.

Suggestion is... the case for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Why is it that women appear to be attracted to urbane successful metrosexuals instead of the rough and ready slobs that they are... Why do successful bachelorettes in their 30s have so much trouble finding "Mr Right"? Is there a Mr Right or are they doomed to a fruitless search... Are guys really interested in meeting successful women or are they more interested in finding a domesticated homemaker?

(PS From my point of view, as a thirty-something bloke with the house by the beach, post grad diplomas and a management job... it would be easy pickings with all these "bachelorettes" about... truth is the folk I'm attracted to fit neither the demure home exec or the ball busting career exec... i have a paper due that is similar. the topic i chose was groundwater pollution. gasoline contains a chemical known as an MTBE(methyl tertiary butyl ether) that increases octane in gas to make it burn cleaner, which is good. the downside is that this chemical causes testicular cancer and tumors in people when exposed to it and especially in those who ingest it. this chemical is leaking into town resevoirs and tainting the water due to unsecure underground gas tanks at gas stations. One argument could be in favor of clean air, the other in favor of clean drinking water. as of Jan. 1, NY and Connecticut are banning gas that contains MTBE, which means if they run low on gas the can't borrow from neighboring states due to the ban. not to mention gas without MTBE is going to raise the cost of gas 5 cent per gallon in the summer and 1 cent per gallon the upcoming winter.
