Im a new owner of a 2000 GTP and want to put a new pulley in my car what pulley do you recommend? Or do you think I should start with other mods? Let me know what you think. :sunglasse

my buddy has a gtp and he picked up the 3" pulley from here. He liked the hp gains!! You will have to order a different belt also.

They got other stuff there too.

Safest pulley for a stock car is the 3.4" pulley. Then go with a Cold Air Intake, and then Ubend delete and 3" down pipe.

I run a DUB Gen2 system and love it.

With a DUB type system you can change pulley sizes within 5min.

For a daily driver I run a 3.1" pulley, and at the track I can run a 2.9" pulley. I also have a 3.4 pulley that I use on long trips.

Mods:

Performance: CYA Racing PCM, Tranny #2 with 3.29 gearing, Thrasher Cam, Custom DHP PCM, 3" cutout, CYA Racing LSD, 3.4/3.1/2.9 DUB, MSP CAI & Catback & Desert Fox Tranny Cooler, Ported front Manifold, MDPP 3" Downpipe, no-ubend, shftkt(max), spring boosters, 160tstat, Mobil 1, Autolite 104, TB spacer & heat shield, Xover wrapped, ZZP wp & alt pulley, boost-tranny temp-volts, SNM motor mounts, Hurst line lockers

On my stock GTP, would that hurt my tranny if I put on a smaller pully. I have heard a lot about people that do very light mods, and then go through a few trannys. My car has 105,000 miles on it, and I don't have money to pay for a new tranny.

If you would like to baby step into smaller pulleys, SLP has one that is 3.5.

I installed the Pulley Boys 3.4" on mine. The gains were quite noticable......although you would need some other mods on your car to feel the full effect. I don't know that I'd go any more aggressive than that with a 105,000 mile car. Just my opinion.

I'd get the cold air induction before I got the pulley.

yeah you can. I didnt start to do things to my car till i had over 130000 miles on it. and now it has 145000+ on it and still runs strong. I have a 3.4 pulley, cold air induction, u-bend cut out also with resisnator cut off with flowmaster 60 series delta mufflers, 16o degree drilled thermistat, 8mm wires. with autolite 104 platnium plugs, digital PCM WITHOUT a shift kit and its still shifts good. Come on, your all under-estamating the PRIX capabilaties
but yeah the shift kit is next on the list but miles dont matter when you take care of the car the right way.
