Someone plz help fast

Ok, bought a car...1993 GT 150K miles toyota celica....the owner was a mastermind....or a cheap mofo......check out this pic...

as you can see......the diagnosis is fried....how can i change this part? (CUT WIRES AND PUT NEW ONE?????)....also....the box w/ rope tied around it...where does that go?
What would really help me is if someone could gimme a pic of how my stock engine should look like because there is a lot of BLACK ELECTRIC TAPE used throughout the engine to hold things together...
THE CAR RUNS GOOD....ONLY SHAKES A BIT...but sorta stopped after i changed to Denso iridium sparkz and oil change.....
any help will be apreciated....
