Dodge Nean SRT-4

This is the second of my most recent kills. The other is a Mustang 5.0 kill. I do not get too many people trying to race me much anymore. Even a few of the C-5's that tried me in the past dont mess anymore.

He is playing cat and mouse with me in traffic. He keeps close to me and keeps showing off his cars impressive acceleration. Actually it was not shabby. The exhaust tone was pretty loud.

So we end up side by side rolling at about 25-30 MPH holding up traffic. He asks if I have a twin turbo or single I say single. He says those can be pretty fast. LOL. Then he says "Do you even know what this is??" Without a hesitation I tell him yes a SRT-4. I guess I was supposed to be scared.

I figure he we held up traffic enough. I ask if he wants a go at it. He says hell yeah!

I let him hit it first. I punch it and pull immediately. So I let off for a sec and go 1/2 throttle. He starts to pull on me so I floor it. I sort of half power shifted third, this is the first time I really nailed shifting to 3rd. I have not hit it this hard even at the track. It suprised the hell out of me because I didn't just chirp the wheels I broke them loose and fishtailed. I stayed in it and put an easy 10 cars between us. I had tons of room so I stayed in it up to about 105. Then shifted to 4th I could hear the flames popping out of my pipe.

I slow back down he comes up with this amazed look on his face and screams you know that thing was shooting flames. I just smile shake my head and tell him I am turning. I turned off and went home.

I found out from a friend a few days later he was warning all his friends not to mess with the Black RX-7.

Man, that thing is dangerous! I like how these new car guys think that they're the shit cuz they got the new SRT-4 or 350Z or WRX or what have you, but there's always guys like you with the older car that'll blow their doors off in a second. I dunno if that made sense, but yea.

good kill, I hear you with fishtailing I thought no way in hell I could do it hitting 4th well after adjusting my fuel pressure back to 55 it certainly did that kind of scared me didn't expect it to do it.

Perhaps you should read his sig and look at his mods. Stock the SRT-4, 350Z, or WRX could have stood a chance, but with those mods they are toast. Stock those cars are faster than 90% of the cars on the road, they have a right to think they are fast, they are.

Actually I think it is a sleeper. The only thing on this car that you can see that clues you in that its got something done is the Apexi N-1 exhaust tip. Most people think my car is just another ricer mobile.

The car sits about 1.5" lower than stock too other than that it looks stock and sounds like it needs a muffler. :)

Yeah, I just saw the pictures. It looks fairly normal plus I mindlessly thought it was an FD not an FC.

Good kill. Those SRT-4's can be really nasty when they are modded. I've heard that a few bolt ons gets them into the low 13's.

you have a crazy car dude. those old school rx-7's are prolly my favorite imports.....

srt4 stock is 14.2 with 15 lbs boost, what someone i know ran. someone ran a 12.8 up in there's when i was there.... BEWARE OF THOSE.......

break the wheels loose in third? thats pretty sick. i can only chirp third very lightly when im at the track.

On street tires I can actually scorch 3rd gear, and chirp 4th while on the juice.

I am classed in BP. The street rims are OZ's correct.

We call it the FDee FCeee it has the heart of a FD with the charm of a FC. I like the FD's just not my style. When you see one of them you think F&F and fast car. When you look at mine (especially the older guys in the Vettes) you think outdated 80's car cannot get out of its own way.

I really dont want to spin my tires in 3rd. That actually upset me. Spinning tires = not moving. I am changing my springs to lighter ones in hopes of making my car better behaved. I am also looking into some wider rear tires for the street. I have the same problem when I autocross I think with the sofer springs my weight will transfer to the rear better and it will hook up better.

I used to have N2O in my car with its stock engine. I am considering putting it back in and jetting for a 50 shot. With turbo cars that ends up getting you 100 to the wheels.
