2 Tickets in 2 Weeks...

No its not a movie this is my life. I got 2 freakin tickets in 2 weeks. First was for "Unsafe turning movement(22106)" Second was for Speeding. I am so screwed. I never had a ticket in my life before these 2. I am gonna try and do traffc school for the first one and the second one I am jut gonna have to take it up the a$$. I think I am gonna register the car non op and take it off the insurance for now. Might gimme reason to pull the engine and tranny and get it all rebuilt. Even though its only got 80,000 miles on it. I think the tranny might need some work done to it. I talked to my insurance and they said with just the 1 ticket I will have to be paying 247 a month for just the T/A!!!!!!........... Yea, thats a lot of money. So I am still debating. But I just thought I'd bring it up maybe you guys can share some of your stories...hehe :evillol:

You may not believe this, but I swear it's true. Last May, I got three speeding tickets in one week! Don't ask me how I still have my license. I got the first two, three days apart while driving the TA. The third was exactly one week after getting the first one, and that was driving my Beretta. I had hearings at two different magistrate offices for the first two and they cut me some slack so I didn't get that many points on my license... the third ticket; the cop cut me a break so I wouldn't get me any points. All in all, I think I spent about $450.00 in fines that week. :banghead:

For any speeders out there: plead not guilty and go to the hearings! What many people don't realize is that you have nothing to lose by doing this and usually you get a break! Trust me, I've had easily between 8 to 10 speeding tickets within the past 10 years... I know.

My court date is tomorrow actually. I've already talked to the cop, and he won't show so mine is in the bucket. I swapped some stories about fugitive warrants etc and all is fixed.

It's not what you know, it's who you know. I find this out at least once a day, and it's true.

82 in a 55 work zone isn't good. if you want to go fast, go to a race track or drag strip or something.

That is so true about who you know. Unfortunately I never had that kinda luck with the cops I dealt with. It doesn't help when you have a car that's a cop magnet either, such as bright silver sports cars... easy targets...

i don't know what area you are in. but in my area, cops just don't go for fast sports cars. they go for everybody. i know this as a fact.

i would guess maybe in LA or big cities with lots of highways, they would try to keep the fast guys a bit slower. but in DC, WV, VA...it's not bad at all. you speed, you get a ticket.

I know Ohio is pretty tough too. they go for everyone as well.

yea, well I live in Cali. I was in L.A. when I got one of the tickets. Other one was on the way home from L.A. I drove a plain white Nissan for 2 1/2 years without a ticket and I raced around in that thing way more than the TA. But as soon as i get in the TA and go like 1 mile over the speed limit there is cops all over my ass. Kinda pisses me off.

I feel ya... as soon as I got my TA, my occurrences of speeding tickets went up big time. I mean, I've been pulled over years ago in my little 4 cyl. '87 Cavalier, and also in my '94 Beretta (I still have), but it just seems my TA is a big-time cop magnet... it's probably a good thing I'm putting in away for the winter... :iceslolan

Instead of going to the hearings your self, what I done for the one ticket i did get (got a radar detector next day havent had one since :))was go to a lawyer and have them take care of it, I got it dropped to a no-points non-moving violation of defective exhaust....that that exhaust making me speed heh. might cost you a little more short term, but it didnt raise my rates or anything.

Man, Cops are like women, cant live with them cant live without them.

As soon as I got my 79 firebird formula I got stopped at least 5 times.
I got stopped for not having exaust pipes in the end (they just kind of ended after the cat. conv.). I got stopped for reckless driving (the cop told me that I almost ran over a person, and four of my friends in the car told me that they did not see anything including me). I also got stoped for driving 2 miles over the limit, but my kiss ass attitude saved me. The last one was the one I am most proud of and it did not involve the bird, but its presence had a lot to contribute.
Yea, I got a illegal possesion of fireworks, got caught behind my schools baseball field with the firebird trying to throw some fireckrackers. Awsome a?

Anyway, ever since I got my bird, whenever a cop passes by me they all U-turn and follow me for a while. At first I was all paranoid, but now I play games with them. i would go exactly the speed limit and maybe even slower for a long time. I would listen to music while the porky boy just destroys himself in agony.

P.S. One tip, get a radar detector, I speed all the time and have no tickets.

Hey i own a 3kGt not that it matters but i was searching for radar detectors and found this topic. Cops can now see if you have a radar detector in your car, like radar detection or something. What exactly is it that the new radar detectors must have to block that so the cop cannot tell if you have one or not. VA is kinda crapy and full of cops so i decided i just might need one of these. thx

Join the club.....every time I took my 77 S/E out for a spin the cops started drooling. I managed to always get stupid tickets like "tire squealing" or "improper acceleration from stop" I did have one of the tire squealing tickets thrown out as I contested it. I was turning a corner and my tires chirped the tiniest bit. The judge saw that the cop was being an a**hole and saw my side of it.

that is called VG2 and i beliv most radar detectors made by whistler has it, thats the only brand i have ever used, dont know if it will be called anything else on another brand but VG2 is what you are looking for. and the way that works is, if a cop is trying to detect if you have a radar detector, the radar detector senses that and basically turns itself off for like 30 sec or something like that, then will listen for the radar detector detector signal again, and if it doesnt find it, it will go back to normal mode. So in other words, if a cop is checking to see if you have a radar detector best make sure you are doing the speed limit. cause you wont be able to tell when he is gunning you while its in vg2 mode.
