Volvo 850 Keyless Remote

My wife recently purchased a keyless remote from Ebay...b/c my father-in-law flushed our other one down a toilet at Outback! Rather than having to pay to have it programmed, I was wondering if I can do it myself, and how? We have a 1994 850 Turbo Wagon.

Put key in ignition, turn to on (II)(DO NOT START), then back to off 5 times in a row. then press the lock button on transmitter (with-in 5 seconds). and wah-lah. You programmed in your new transmitter. Get out of car and test. Doors Should lock/unlock and lights should flash...
