the NEW Eclipse?

Hey you people, i was reading my new Import Tuners, and saw that there was a "new" eclipse coming out. yep, a New Eclipse, they said they have no news on the HP and torque, yet they still say this a rumor thats going to be real...? what ever that meant. well, jus sayin this, and see if u guys have heard anything on this 'new' Eclipse

there is always rumors about different cars that are coming out but usually dont, thats why they call them rumors, and if the car does come out its a concept car that has to go through a shit load of tests and brought in front of public to see how they react to it... so even if there is a concept car, now days it pretty much has to be a perfect family car to pass all the tests and have the public like it, or it will be too expensive and not a lot of people will buy it so they usually dont produce it, just like the Cadilac V16, that car was nuts and expensive, people dont need a car like that so thats why Cadilac only made a very small number of them!

And no i havent heard anything about a New Eclipse comin out within the next year or 2

I heard this rumor about a year ago. But i can't find anything on it. Guess i gotta buy an import tuner mag

Article: Spy photographers caught the next Mitsubishi Eclipse not wearing much as it cruised through southern California. Here's what they saw: a much larger coupe with lots of Mitsubishi styling dues, some cloaked by the black vinyl. The next Eclipse is supposed to arrive late in the 2005 model year, or possibly for 2006, sharing some of the Galant's mechanicals and built alongside it at the Mitsu factory in Illinois. No word on powertrains yet, but it's likely the Eclipse will remain split with four- and six-cylinder engine options.

From the looks on the photo. It retains the "big center mouth with two side holes" flagship from the past gens of Eclipses. It's much bigger than any generation eclipse so far.The top center of the bumper sort of reminds me of a Grand Prix nose. And it looks like it has two hood scoops under that vinyl. In my opinion. If it's gonna be that big, then there's no way in hell they are putting a four cylinder back in there.

Well have you seen my sig yet. I drive the new eclipse. Or at least thats what other people think. Most regular divers have no clue what kind of car I have unless they have one or have a friend/family that have one. So for now on I have the new eclipse..j/k

i saw the pic, i thought it looked like a the 2004 Galants with 2 doors. they should bring back the 2nd gen looks and make it more stylish and enough HP to beat the SRT-4 and....yea...

Don't they always spice things up every five years. I've been waiting for this one since the 3rd gen's came out. So shouldn't you be expecting a new one.

Hmm, the new eclipse is getting a exotic look almost kind of Ferrarish. I kinda like it:) I dont like the way the 2nd gen look for some reasons its almost too sporty

i think the 2nd gen is the best looking out of all of them!!! but thats my :2cents: they should bring that look back and put the 6 bolt motor in it with a big 16g right from the factory and have just the GST and GSX options... that would be tight.

No offense but, you are probably the only person on earth who thinks that. Everybody I know likes the 2nd gen's the best, including me. How can you say that you like the new one's because it looks like a Ferrari and you don't like the 2nd gen's because they are too sporty? Ferrari=Ultimate sportinesssssssssssss!

eh well :p just my opinion I like the way its shaped from the side. lol for better terms I cant really describe how I think the newer eclipses look like to me.. its just my opinion. I dont really think of Ferrari as sports car ish more like luxury to myself :2cents:

Tru, but the way I see it is that ferrari's are one of the sportiest cars. If you like the new eclipse then that's your opinion and that's what the forum is for. I personally think its kind of too blocky in the back like the old rx-7 used to look like. I think it could be a little sleeker. Hopefully they will make turbocharged models of it. Its like they want it to be an evo with size of a sports car.
