Problem with timed door locks

A problem developed recently where when I hit the door locks while the car is off and the doors are open, the doors don't lock after the alloted time, where they used to in the past.

The alternator went about a month ago and was replaced with a new battery also, so I think that has something to do with it.

How can this be fixed?

If you replaced the battery, it's possible the locks just need to be reprogrammed. I don't remember exactly how to do it, but it is in your owner's manual, if you have it.

It didn't come with the car.

Well, I have mine...but it's kinda in the body shop right now...I'll be glad to look it up for you when I get it back, though, if reprogramming is what they need.

Go to www.pontiac.com (http://www.pontiac.com) and click on the "owners center" link in the upper right hand corner. Sign up either with or without adding your VIN and they should have the owners manual on-line for you to view.
