If anyone knows anygood sites for this motor lmk. Had to make a new thread. Felt bad for stealing the SOHC vtec or DOHC ZC thread.

Killa CRX, I know the head is a z6 head so i think that timing belt will work. i don't know about the Alt. belt thouhg

I found on D-Series.org that you do use the z6 timing belt and anything for the head. You use the Vx motor (1.5) for the alt. belt and water pump

if you don't mind me asking why are you looking for a jdm d15 vtec?

check out the other d15b thread.....I gave you some info that might help......later

Kdog,
You don't have to post almost the same exact thing in all of the D15b topics, The info is just as good in one thread. Thanx for the info though.

my apologies.....I did a search for d15b and just thought I might try to lend some of my experience and knowledge.....I would really like to get people turned onto this engine because I would really like some good internal upgrade parts to become available.......
I'm tired of hearing "b series this and b series that" SOHC is better in alot of ways and I'm trying to prove it. At least you were nice about it though...thanx!!!!!!!!

Dumped91hatch, I'm going with the Civic VX timing belt, water pump, and alt. belt.
By the way, the engines we got are not '3-stage' vtec engines. 3-stage vtec was on 96+ model civics, and the engines we got are out of EG civics. The D16Z6 head is just your regular run of the mill vtec head, and the p08 ECU is a less aggressive brother of the p28 ECU used for the D16Z6.
More info to come, but I'm tired and forgot what I was going to say.

Why would the P28 be more agressive than the P08 when the D15b has like 5 more horsepower than the z6 which has more displacement? I'm not saying your wrong just wondering your theory/research on this.

I only assume it's because the Z6 has 'slightly' larger displacement, but I got my info from talking with the guy at hmotorsonline extensively about the engine before actually buying it, and that's what he told me about it.
As for the horse power figures... I'm still unsure about that one... I have yet to see a dyno chart showing how much horse power the D15B actually has... will know for sure after I have mine dyno'd.

d16z6 is 125hp
d15b is 130ps which is roughly 128hp.
the extra horsepower can be attributed to differing emissions controls and higher octane fuel and other small factors.
the D16Z6 and D15B both have a P08 head. they are identical.

this is all assumption, but I do know that the p08 ecu uses a 1-wire oxygen sensor and the p28 uses a 4-wire heated oxygen sensor...maybe thats the difference?

Kdog what ecu are you using?

I'm using the P08 ecu chipped by adrian at hyper duck tuning and using the RPT program. It seemed like the better thing to do considering I put it in a 91 Hatch SI. That way I didn't have to convert over to a 4 wire oxygen sensor. If I would have used the P28 I would have had too.

I don't know about internals bottom end wise from what Kdog has said. But Valvtrain wise I would go with all Z6 shit. Kdog stop me if I'm wrong but good luck hitting 11:1. If you find stuff that will work then let all of us know bottom end wise. Oh by the way Kdog, thanx for the info on the VX timing belt the Z6 is acctually about 1" to long. I already had it so I measured it up with the D15b belt. You said you were running N2o through your motor? How big of a shot? Thanx for hitting us up with the info. So many Q's with no for sure answers left alot of guessing, since no one had that motor yet. Good lookin out!

no problem man, anything I can do to help. We gotta stick together right......us SOHC guys ya know. As for as 11:1....your right, good luck, but if you do find internal please let us know! I doing another one of these swaps this next week for a friend so the following is getting bigger. We need good internals!
For now I'm only running a 75 shot. I made one big mistake though. I concentrated on power...not on traction. So, all I do is hop. In turn, this winter is going to mean a complete suspension upgrade. That way I have the whole package. How bout you guys?

I plan on going turbo. Probably the Edelbrock kit. As for suspention I thing i'm gunna go wit something that is adjustable strut wise, as far as coilovers i'm gunna stick with what I have and keep my upper strut braces that I have. I just need a lower rear adjustable sway bar and i'm probably gunna do a full Energy bushing kit.

why don't you go with the setup in Honda Tuning Mag? It would only set you back about 400....I think I try it next summer.
