Idle Air Bypass Valve

My 95 Ford Taurus was idling up and down on startup, sometimes stalling out. It would be ok after it warmed up. After reading through numerous posts regarding this exact problem, I bought a can of throttle body cleaner and cleaned the throttle body and the idle air bypass valve. Now on start up the idle is very fast (seems like the valve is stuck open) and the up and down symptom is gone. It slows down a bit, but not where is should be. Once put into gear it idles correctly. Is it time for a new idle air bypass valve?
What I did not do and should have was check the resistance of the solenoid. I will check this later.
Thanks for any help,
Slighty

Update on idle air bypass valve A guy at work mentioned that I should probably reset the computer. I unhooked the battery, let it sit for a few hours, hooked it back up, and it works like a charm. Beautiful starts, and excellent idle. Now on to the rack and pinion. :)
