Hi, I am a new Impreza 2001 5 door 1500cc owner. I got it imported from Japan to Cyprus. It does not have the standard Subaru logo on it. The grille badge looks like an "I" on blue background . I wonder why I don't get the standard logo? Thanks for comments in advance.

The 'I' badge is one of the logos the STI use, it's highly likely that the previous owner replaced the regular badge with that one as a 'JDM' upgrade.
Usually the STI badges have a pink or white background as those are STI's recognised colors, it's still a Subaru badge though.

Thanks for your reply. Does your answer mean that my car is not A STI? And, what 's a JDM please? Sorry for `ignorance`!

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market

There is very little chance you have a Subaru Impreza STI.
The STI is turbocharged for a start, and has a lot bigger engine than yours and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.

This is a 2001 STI:

I am grateful for your kind help and cooperation. As the picture you attached shows, my car is not definitely a STI. Mine is a 5-door, 1500 cc Impreza 2001. I have done a search on the net but cannot find any information about the very car i have bought. Do you know where I can gather information about what kind of an Impreza I have? Sorry for the headache but you have been of great help to me.

Here's a good place to start learning about the different models, though this site is geared mostly to the US market.

Check out the links section, though, as you may find even more... :)
