Heard a lady on CarTalk from Woodinvile, WA that had a Maxima that was turning KM's on her odometer instead of miles. She said the dealership had just gone under (must have been Melody Nissan). Anyway, I think they were bringing a lot of Canadian vehicles down and reselling them. I haven't heard of anyone with this problem on an Xterra, but thought I would post the info.

I just bought a Canadian Xterra dealer-purchase; 2002 Solar Yellow auto 4x4. The odo is in kilos; the speedo bezel is kilos on top, mph underneath. Dealer said exactly what you did; bought in Can and brought down to USA for quick sale.
And since you brought it up, is there an easy way to change over to MPH bezel and mph speedo trans gears???
Thankyouverymuch!!! :D

From what I remember a year ago or so was that you just need to order a new instrument panel. The speed is only a different plate, and odometer calculation is apparently done by chip in the panel, so no other parts to do.
I never bothered changing it. My tires throw off the speed anyway, so I use my GPS. I guess if I were planning to sell it, I would switch it.
