fiero/firebird compatability

i enjoy the nitrous oxide but have been unable to find a dry kit specifically for fiero 2.8 I did find one listed for firebird 2.8 does anyone know if the fuel systems are exactly the same?

what year(s) firebird? im pretty sure that the engines are identical. i know that the fiero (v6)was the one of the first cars to have tuned port EFI (used in '80s corvette's to: another example of fiero innovation). r u looking at jeg's? they have a universal FI NOS kit for 6 cyl. engines (only a 30-75hp gain though, and quite expensive). if u would like to get better for cheap, i would say to get a chip instead. the nitrous would give more power than the chip, of course

Have you checked out the ZEX air filter/nitrous injection?

What about the universal direct port. That's what I am doing, it's alot safer on the engine. just my 5 pennies

the thing about direct port with the fiero though. the mpi system shoots the whole side of injectors at once and the mixture sits over the intake ports until the valve opens. im pretty sure of this anyways. so if you didnt direct port with the nitrous it might inject the whole side and i dont think that much nos sitting there in the intake would be a good idea. just a thought. i will see if i can confirm the thoughts i had of the mpi system.

Depends on what year. Earlier Firebird Esprit/Camaro Berlinettas had carbs... and if it's for those it won't fit at all. A shot into the throttle body seems to be the safest idea, be it less powerfull, but if you are expecting to dump a 200hp shot, then you're already expecting to blow the engine up alot anyway :) have you looked at late 80s S10 truck systems? They seem to have alot of stuff available for pretty much the same 2.8

We just had a dry NOS system installed on my sons '85 4 cyl just a few weeks ago. This was what Holley recomended when we called them for help as we didn't know hardly anything about nitrous and figured that out pretty quickly when we tried it on our own.
I don't know about the compatability between Firebirds and Fieros but this is what was recomended for our specific vehicle and engine based on a few specific things about our Fiero. I would call Holley and have them help recomend what system is best for yours. They might also be able to answer your Firebird question as well. Calling your GM parts center might be able to answer that too or even better post that in the tech section on Pennocks and see what responses you get:

No matter what car or engine direct port is always safer because you get even fuel/nitrous in each cylinder.
