Good luck! It will take a lot to try to replicate the movie car...

1. roll cage
2. no back seat in real car
3. ice
4. correct position of NOS tanks
5. pillar mounted gauges
6. Sparco milano seats (not the ones with the kit)
7. Sparco shifter/pedals, etc.

And thats just the interior problems ;)

Engine is all wrong (belive me, I tried to fix it  ) Wing is all wrong, roof scoop is shaped wrong, gas cap is wrong, disc brakes are a JOKE (they are supposed to be BREMBO GT big brake kit)

I can help you with research material, as I thought about making the movie car, but figured out that I would be better off not to even try it...

(By the way the movie car had different hood pins)

GOOD LUCK!!! and I will keep coming back to this thread often to check your progress!

You have alota work on your hands, you should've just gotten the Revell metal body, seeing as it is comepletely right, nothing on it wrong except the mirrors and the sound system it has.

I do believe the car had a passenger seat.

slk320
11-04-2003, 09:25 PM
Yep, It had a passanger seat (both seats are Sparco Torinos or Milan)

The two NOS tanks are located behind the passanger seats and the rear package shelf is full of amps.

Looks good so far! I like the color!

nice. One ? though, why are your gauge faces lying on the dash?

Integra14
11-05-2003, 07:45 PM
why shouldn't they be.. they came with thekit!

86_SR5
11-05-2003, 09:16 PM
That's not how they should be. You should be able to see them alot better than that. Picture this, your pushing 165mph in a parking lot on litely modded turbo 4g63 in 5th gear, you can't see your gauges, something decides to go wrong, your electronic boost controller decides to go haywire (cause your too cheap to buy a good one, so you buy a second hand one that's been remanufactured. You end up chucking a piston because your boost flies up, this all coulda been prevented if you coulda seen the damn gauges. (I've never dealt with turbo motors before, so this story might be off, but you get the idea.)

Integra14
11-05-2003, 09:27 PM
yea ur right.. almost all true

but if ur boost controller goes haywier, Theres nothing u can do.. It will Detenate (too much boost, backfire i belive)... andU can definently FEEL it.... so what ud never get into 4-5 gear because ud feel it as soon as the turbos spool and ..... GO!!...

my bros car detenates on 93 octane.. It needs 94! at 15Psi...

86_SR5
11-05-2003, 09:34 PM
Well, as I said I've never dealt with turbo cars, only superchargers, constant boost 2500rpm and up, that's the way I like it.

Integra14
11-05-2003, 09:36 PM
thats chill...

anyways.. back to the model.. any other suggestions!??!?!?!?!?!!?!

86_SR5
11-05-2003, 10:31 PM
are you doing the sparco pedals? Oh yeah, how about some Takata racing harnesses? walmart sells this thin ribbon , already green, just print the logos and superglue them on there. I assume this car has a tach built in the dash? Did you make the cage yet, you know it's gotta be green.

Ok Tegra, just so we're clear, the pictures (more like diagrams, show the 8, 10 ,12, and 14 pt. roll cages. What I do is recreate an 8pt cage, then add the points from the ten, and you have a cage for your car.

Start with making a 4pt bar:
http://www.rankmyride.com/data//4/2/2721//.large/4.jpg
Then add tube to make it an 8pt cage:
http://www.rankmyride.com/data//4/2/2721//.large/8.jpg
Then add more to make it a 10pt cage:
http://www.rankmyride.com/data//4/2/2721//.large/810.jpg

In the movie, the car had an oval can muffler with a single chrome tip no blue on it, it was a trust extreme exhaust.

How does it go whit this car???

I have ordert it now, just waiting to get it...And put my fingers on it..

One thing. Hobbylinc are selling NOS-tanks, so if you want double NOS, Go and order a "NOS-kit"

The rims, are they in the kit similar to the real one?? or have you got som others?

Integra14
11-15-2003, 12:20 PM
The kit is OK, not every part fits well.. especially the windows (current project)

DECALS will be on by today and soon i will b finished... This will be the last progress pics until complettion...

also.. U can't really see in these quick photos.. but theres some headlights (real working) installed!
