Hey all, i had some questions about shifting in a manual car. I hear many phrases like, double shifting, power shifting, speed shifting, ect. but i dont know what they mean. If anyone can tell me what these things mean and how they affect the cars performance it would be apperciated.

double clutching is a technique used by drivers of manual transmissions without synchroes. you have synchroes in your transmission so you dont have to worry about it. older cars do not ahve them, so double clutching is needed. read this, paying special attention to the "synchros" section.

BTW- that website is awesome. always check that for problems or questions.

Shift quick but watch your RPM's, not to shift to excited and miss a gear though. In a race shifting at the right RPM has a big factor.
