Spark Racing kit for '97 GSR

I need feedback on a Spark racing Turbo kit. I have a 1997 Acura Integra GSR. Here's what the kit comes with:

Has anyone even heard of Spark Racing? I haven't :uhoh: I have some concerns. It comes with a stainless steel manifold. I heard cast iron is the way to go. Steel might crack. Has anyone bought a spark racing kit or have any experience with it? How is it? The only thing I might need with this kit is some injectors. Anyways, I have been researching this topic for about three months now. I DO NOT plan to rebuild my internals. Too much money, too much work (ie dropping the engine, new rods, and pistons). So, the most boast I can run is about 8 pounds. Some say up to 12, but there hasn't been any evidence that anyone has given me. So, I'm stayin at 8. Is this what I want a T3/T4 turbo. How is the spoil. Is this kit the best way to go? I was lookin at the greddy. The best deal I could find for that was $2,000 brand new. That does not come with an intercooler, B.O.V., or a downpipe. That brings me up to $2,600. I do not want to spend anything more than $2,600. So, What is best for me? Spark racing, greddy, DRAG, rev-hard? I want the best kit for around $2,600 maybe 2,800 at the most. Remember though, I need everything that is needed to run a kit. For instance, the Greedy does not have an intercooler. Count that in. the kit doesn't look all that bad. But you get what you pay for, always keep that in mind. BTW if you do get it, ditch the Vortec FMU and get a hondata

Don't even think about going for spark racing. They use 304 stainless which is a strong metal and won't crack if you use the right thickness, but they use paper-thin metal, the wastegate is in a shitty position and causes boost creep, and they use shitty seals. Run very far away from spark racing.

How do you know this? Do you use a kit. You have to give me some hard evidence. This is the first bad thing I've heard. If you recomend staying away. Then what other kits should I get for this price which is good for about 8-10pds. of boast for my price range, and where do I buy it?

yea spark's manifold sucks. it's known to cracks and boost creeps.
if you still wanna use it i suggest you a least brace it and reroute the wastegate position.

I know of a Spark Racing out in La Puente, CA- They put in a Prelude engine into a integra for my friend. As far as turbo kits go I don't know how good they are- is this the same company?

oh shit, i completely missed the stainless steel manifold. SS manifolds are really prone to cracking. That's why better companies, ie Rev Hard, use a cast iron manifold.

ss manifolds are not prone cracking. spark's manifold crack because they use thin steel to make their manifold. equal length ss manifold manifold are way better than cast iron. they don't rust and help your turbo spool quicker.

i've read about a few people saying that their SS manifolds crack along the runners and shit like that.....
