windows delaminating

All door windows are dual pane.
Dual panes delaminate at about an 11 month interval.
Have now replaced all windows 3 times, one a 4th time.
Looks like window tint coming off in a perfectly solid sheet pattern.

2000 740i sport with sound proof package.
Any other instances out there?

i have a 1998 750il with double pane glass. i have had the car for approx. 3 years. since i bought the car my windows have seemed to have the same problem and it seems to get worse by the week. i am going to have to replace all 4 side windows soon. i'm dredding the cost of replacement. are you telling me that if i do replace them that it may do the same thing in approx. 11 months? :banghead: :banghead:

I'm having the same problem. I purchased a 2001 740il, 41K miles, about two months ago. When I purchased the car was absolutly perfect. Now i'm seeing boubles in the side windows. This is very disturbing!

My 2001 740il has had 2 of the side windows replaced due to delamination. The windows on the otherside are going. BMW has not stepped up to the plate, and had given my a lot of BS excuses. The bonding between the layers of glass is faulty - plain & simple. BMW needs to upgarde these early problem cars with the newest american made Dupont laminated safety glass, instead of their "fine German leaded crystal."
In 2002 they changed to the newest Dupont "SentryGlas," for some "unknown reason." There is probably a secret BMW memo somewhere that suggested a change in vendors due to all of the
problems with the earlier delaminations and the potential financial liability.
BMW shame on you! Premium car owners get shafted again for buying an upgrade option.

Top left corner of the left large passenger window there is a 2 inch defect - the tint is split and bubbles formed only on this spot.
I purchased this super clean 2000 740i Sport two months ago - the owner had kept the car in a garage - does sunlight or heat advance the delamination process?
Sounds like although this may be a common problem, it is not universal?
Does it spread across the surface once it starts in a particular window?

If I get regular window tinting on the side and rear windows I guess this would make it less noticable and may be a lot less expensive than getting new windows?
