I hear a bunch of stuff about lightening cars. I still want my car to look normal , not like a stripped car with an engine and wheels. What are some decent ways to signifacly remove weight? and how much do the stock alloys weigh?

I wouldnt worry about weight too much unless your really need every advantage possible widening the track(of the car) and lowering the center of gravity help more than actually reducing weight.

FRP and carbon fiber hoods, racing seats, SS (or Titanium *bling) Exausts, lightweight Flywheels, and gutting the trunk (nobody cares about the trunk) all reduce weight and dont look to shabby either.

we had a large thread within the last month about this. if you do a forum search for weight reduction threads, it's the one started by SR20DETPower i believe. it's pretty big and has all kinds of suggestions on how to lighten your 240.

i just took some stuff out of the z... i still have to take out the lil fuzzballs everywhere and some wires. (~2.2-2.6 lbs)

it'll be hard to drive without a steering wheel and a seat, but i am going to attempt it.

i took a screw driver and a hammer and chipped out ALL of the sound deadning from the front seats back... then to not make it look like ass i sprayed it with rockerguard... which makes it look/feel like flatbed liner

good stuff ... light and rugged
