1995 Escort. Left side shoulder harness was not working. Disassembled and found cable bad. Got another unit from salvage, motor was bad. Used old motor and assembled. Still did not work. To see if the track was good I reversed the leads to the motor and the attaching lug went to the forward position. Shut the door and it worked correctly 5/6 times and quit. Motor is powered at all times gets very hot. Something is not stopping the current once the track hits the limit switch. Both limit switches check good with an ohm meter. I feel it has something to do with the unit under the seat. Is there any way to check?
Thanks in advance

I too am having a problem with the motorized shoulder track-driver side. Ford says no problem that they are aware of. Many people I have spoken with say the track is defective. I'm in the process of trying to make Ford cover it as I already had it replaced once--by the dealership who only would warrant it for 1yr/12k miles. Has anyone else had similar problems?

I have a 94 LX. Mine stopped working about a year/ or two ago. Stuck half way. it would go all the forward but would only come halfway back and make this god aweful clicking noise so I unplugged the motor.
