Jetta Trek Headlamps

For about 6 months ow, I keep having to replae my headlamps. Either the drier or passenger side headlamd keeps blowing. I have check al wiring harnesses and make sure not to touch the bulb when replaceing, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else had problems with the headlamps. My Jetta is a 96 Trek model.
