Radioshack xmods

Who has seen these new xmods? i just bought the yellow skyline with the bomex bodykits and the stage 2 engine tune up. it is by far the best drifter i have ever seen! :lol2: just use the stock tires and you will be in drift heaven. :icesangel lol. but i do think these are worth the fifty bucks plus the extra thirty for upgrades. if you have one of these cars please reply to this post. I might make a few videos of my drifting.

Nice man im gonna get the all wheel drive up grade next cuz skylines have all wheel drive dont they? thats what i thought. I wish they would have a tour of these things and go to st. louis and sum other places I live in St. louis so its all good

what do u mean? you could probably buy the new stage 3 motors (comming in a few weeks) and might get it up to 20 MPH. Dont really know. But i just bought the 4 wheel drive upgrade and my dad liked em so much he bought the supra with the bodykits! LOL! well im gonna install the 4 wheel drive now Ill tell u guys if it werks good or not

I have the Red '97 Supra w/ bodykit, stage 2 top speed motor, & light kit (I call it mini-car, as i have fashioned it like my car). I have a friend with the Skyline w/body kit and stage 2 drift motor and all-wheel drive kit.

There is so much potential for this car. Not super hot yet, but christmas is coming. Great little car for 50 bucks compared to mini z's/

Can there be teams on the tour

How does the throttle and steering work on these cars? is it proportional or is it just like a jerky on-off switch? I mean...do the cars have different speeds?

OMFG it is amazing. but 4 sum reason it like cuts off every now and then. has anyone had this problem? If u have give me a reply quickly because Im going to ask my local radioshack to have a competition and stuff and win prizes! that would be like a tour sort of but just not going to other stores. so if u have any coments just Reply. ;)LOL(;

Sexy beast, the steering on the XMODS is a digital proportional system. And the controller for the car has adjustible trim for steering and a right/left handed driver switch.

hey! i just bought the rsx because my skyline was acting the same way as modder30's was. you should just exchange it man! i also bought the lights this time, they're pretty bright.

Is that what u did? Cuz i dont wanna lose all my parts i put on my sky becuz i got every upgrade installed on it.

does anyone know how to add another battery to the skyline? someone said that there is a way but i cant find where to get the info, anyone got some? also, whats up with that cat on ebay selling those motors on ebay, i wonder if they work.....

i need some info on putting an extra battery in the xmod skyline cuz people say its good to have an extra battery for the headlights....

i havent heard about any xtra battery room for the lights exclusivly. i think there is only room for the 4 AAA battterys that run the whole car.

i have the yellow skyline and the red supra. they both have the same mods which are the lights, stage 2 motor upgrade for top speed (blue), suspension upgrade with the yellow springs, new body kit and rims. But for some reason they both dont drive straight. they tend to curve to the left. Is anyone else haveing this problem? Or know how to correct it?

madisonknight87, on the top of the controller is two buttons to adjust the steering trim. my red supra was having the same problem, and after adjusting the trim it runs much straighter. although not completely straight over long distances.

What about the video's come on lets see them. I want to know if I should buy one or not. Could someone post a video please?

i got these things thinkin they would be fun and i was right i just rather put the money in my models they have evry optooin u gan get 4 them i also have pics of the cars. lots of extras in box all maunals this is great deal there is no optoin in these car need i have more pics if needed im askin 150 4 all

well,
the question is, how much money do u have cuz if u wanna make a good car. plan on spending about $120.00 for all the other goods. So plan out how much money u Make in 1 week 1 month or whatever and see if u can afford it. the only way i got all my stuff is because i made money. a ton of money in that month. $35.00 per grass cut every week. lol. so I think u should definitely get one if u have the money and time.

i u will need is batties with these cars they are both built as bad as u want i cant go go any lower on price and will not seperate u cant get all that i got 4 what im askinthe car been played with twice

are batteries encluded wen u buy a starter kit? and does it come with a charger?

battteries arent included, they sell an 'xmods' charger that comes with 8 (i believe) recharchable NiMH AAA batteries for like $25.

The stock ones go about 15 mph with the stock motor and then 20+mph with the stage 2 motor there coming out with a stage 10 motor real soon i dunno why the went from 2 to 10 makes no sense its said to retail for about $50 bucks and should be out by the end of novmeber. Im not sure how much faster it will make it but ive herd rumors of around 40mph which would be really sweet but i still think $50 bucks for a lil motor is a lil pricey. But these things look sweet im hopin to get 1 soon and does anyone have any videos of these cars in action. :biggrin:

Im gonna get a Acura Rsx with everything thats good price came to around $150. im at their website at carbuilder built it is their a way i can buy it right their and they ship it or i pick it up or something,or do i have to go to store and buy car and every single modification. Please Reply so i can get one and join in on the fun

hey they have a printable list of all the things you checked. you can print the list out and give it to the guy at the store and he should bundle everything up for you =]

I gotta problem with my White Supra Xmod. It goes in reverse really fast..but when I go forward it doesnt really go fast. I dont kno what the problem is.. is it that you have to press down really hard on the controller to go forward fast???

Hey modder30. I work for Radio Shack and I've personally seen two yellow skylines returned because of some malfunction or another. The first one the rear axle broke and the second one wouldn't work right after the all-wheel upgrade was installed.

Just to clarify some questions about the xmods and their performance, etc. The stock motor will bring your car up to about 12 to 13 MPH while the stage 2 motor will bring it up to about 15 to 17 MPH. The stage 3 is still in the makings. The stage 10 motor really only brings it up to about 17 to 18 MPH. Not really worth $50 in my opinion. The all wheel drive will bring down your overall RPM but will allow for a smooth turn without as much loss of RPM WHILE turning. Metal bearings help alot in reducing friction and smoother rotation. If anyone has any questions about this, you can call my store and ask for chad at: 248.689.6616 My store is located in Troy, Michigan and we supply Xmods and all of their upgrades. For example, I have 3+ of each car and upgrades and about 40 stage 2 motors. Any questions, Just call or write back.

i'm getting the skyline xmod and was wondering if i should get stage one or stage two motor upgrade for an overall good performance. i'm thinkin the stage 2, just cause it's faster. :D

To add pictures, you need to upload them first. Go to the gallery (link 3rd from the left at the top), and upload. Then just add the link you get in [IMG] tags and it should work. You may have to delete the -med from the link if it doesn't.

i need help ........ i want to drift with my x mods but when ever i try, i do a donut or i spinout. i have the 2000 civic with the stage 2 drift motor. i have seen videos of x mod drifting but i still cant. someone please help me.

Hey wat u need to do is get an area that has either soft concrete or a wood floor, that is sort of big. all u need 2 do is stay at half-speed or 3/4 speed and get it to slide. u also need to use the hard slick tires for the best outcome.

Hey guys i havent been here in awhile ive been workin on my plastic models. I have news that theyre coming out with paint kits. These are just cans of paint that are different colors and they will show u how to set up the car for painting. If this is not true then they will be coming out with the same car bodies in different colors along with the same color bomex/versus bodykits.

If u guys could help me i made a post in the general section about making a seperate rc forum 4 xmods so we dont get in the way of the other R/C guys. SO IF U COULD PLEASE go to the forum request under general and help me get this forum.

There already out they come with 4 sheets of sponsor decals 2 white 2 black and 3 sheets of plain color. The colors are Lime green, white, and silver. and the last sheet is a pre-cut peice of the red flame decal and double stripes that are blue.

I hear alot of good things about xmods, compared to my mini Z, it seems like an excellent bargain because it has decent performance and nice features such as those bodykits,4wd, and leds!

i just got a white supra with body kit, motor upgrade and 4 wheel drive upgrade. it works and looks great. the four wheel drive is awsome.

I admit that an inexpensive 1:24th-ish scale RC car with upgrades is kind of cool.

But I'd rather pour my money into a Kyosho Mini Z or Yokomo's mini chassis as opposed to buying an X-mod. I've got much more faith in a car I build myself as opposed to something RTR.
