OK here is the situation
As some of you may know when I deleted Kazaa I also deleted about 200-odd songs in my download folder (Ones that I never got around to moving) HOWEVER_ I have a majority of these songs burnt onto CD's
But I created an Audio CD which put the MP3's up to about 90-odd MB- What I want to do is get the songs back to MP3's from the .wmv files (That is what they moved to to the best of my knowledge)- Is there anyway to do this other than recompressing the files??????
needless to say I now have a few CD-RW's where I store my MP3's as data files to avoid any of this sort of complications after that wee accident :D

Jimster, when you burnt them to Audio CD, they didn't goto .wmv, but rather what you would call .wav files. Basically - uncompressed audio.
There is no better way I know of to get them back as .mp3 than re-ripping them.
My preferred ripping tool is FreeRipMP3 from www.download.com or similar.

could always rip them with programs like iTunes or RealOne...i think that even musicmatch jukebox will do it
