Loud cracking?

I guess i cant really describe the sound. But when i go into reverse, but the gear is not all the way in, i get a lound craching rattling sound. Its not a grinding gears sound, its somthing different. Does anybody know what it is.

Don't worry, its normal :)
It's not really bad for your car, but it is pretty annoying.
to get rid of this problem, make sure you arent moving and you are at a complete stop.
also, if your gearshift wont go in reverse,then hit firstgear first
then pop it into reverse. usually that helps me :):rolleyes:
