Gilsson antennas

If you have a GPS that can use an external antenna then you should visit www.gpsgeek.com and order a Gilsson antenna. It's the best antenna and the lowest priced. $20. The price will probably raise to about $70 when they get their distributor network in place.

Does the BNC connector work with your new palmGPS or do you have another connector?

It's a different connector MCW, MCX, something like that.
Very small.
You can get the Gilsson antennas with either connector,
2 different cable lengths and two different cable colors:
All the same price.

Where did you run the antenna cable to your dash mount?

Haven't done anything with it yet. Just have the antenna against the front of the dash with the wire coiled up and plugged into the iQue. Works quite well
Ideally I would have the antenna mounted on the roof under the windscreen for the cargo bin and routed thru the roof and inside the front pillar and up thru the dash somehow.

I'll have to look. I've run wires under the a-pillar gasket and into the engine bay for my lights. From there I can shove (another :uhoh:) wire through the firewall. It's just from there to the dash I've got to figure out. ChrisC just drilled a hole in his dash and left a connecter flush with it. Then he used a patch cable whenever he had his GPS in. I might just get sloppy and leave it coiled in my glovebox for when I need it.

Spiffy, and a darn good price. I bought a Mighty Mouse II (http://www.thegpsstore.net/detail.asp?product_id=TM200) a while back and it's oh so handy.

Got it in the mail today. Everything looks as promised. Quick reply, nice service. I'll plug it in this weekend and see how it works. Might be a while before I'm back in heavy overgrowth with the season ending though.

Ah, glad for the reminder. I looked into getting my MM repaired, cheaper to just buy a new one. Tri-M offered to discount a replacement down into the $40-something range, but I declined. I'm ordering a Glisson now...

I was surprised at the level of reception we were getting on the wagon trail. I only had trouble when I turned off the unit and tried to pull in the satellites again. Maybe we were just lined up better along the tree line, or the altituded reduced mountain blockage. I dunno.
BTW, we're in the same boat on running the wires to the dash cleanly. I know how to get it into the interior fine, but haven't looked into the dash to see what's possible. Let me know if you find anything.
