I have had the high brake light fail on my 2000 blazer. After checking the power going to the assembly which was ok. Bummer, called the local parts shop and can not get the assembly but would have to order thru the dealer at 100 bucks. Wow. Since the assembly didn't work anyway took it apart. What has happen is a resister at the bottom of the led panel has burn open. The drawings call for a 1 watt 510 ohm resister.
Headed off to the local Radio Shack to get the part needed. Replace the resister and everything is good to go again. Just wanted to pass on the information.
