clutch problems

i am putting a new clutch into my 1987 ford escort exp and i am having some troubles getting the tranny out. everything is disconnected but i can only get it over so far before it hits the side of the engine well. does anyone have n e ideas on how to get it ou????

You are trying to come out the bottom right ? Do you have the motor supported by a jack? Lower the motor a some. You might also have to pull the back of the tranny down.

so i got it out today and yeah i just had to lower the engine some and then raise the car higher off the lift case it got in the way. :swear: man what a pain in the ass

Glad it worked out and yes it is a pain in the ass but there ARE worse ones out there.

yeah well i finished now. thank god. i am pretty proud of myself, for a guy with so little experiance doing it all in 5 days by myself isnt too bad. hahah i have a friend who did his and it took him a month and once he was done it still did not work
