HAtch pull down unit question -89 Trans Am

Does anyone know what the bushing in the solenoid of the hatch pull down is? Mechanic said that it was bad but he wanted to charge me $700!!!

i know it doesn't cost that much. tell him to go to hell.

i would expect $700 for the replacement of the whole pull down system
