I have an OBD II Auto Scanner and am getting code P0342 which is the crankshaft position sensor. Does anyone know where this is located on a 1998 Rodeo? I have the 2.2L 4 cylinder. There is no repair manual for this model. Thanks.

P0342 is not a CKP code it is CMP=cam position sensor
you can replace it but you will need your local dealer to run a learn procedure on it or you check engine light will come back on

Crankshaft Position Sensor is right behind the alternator, if you peek between the alternator and the engine you should be able to see the wires, and the camshaft position sensor is in that black box in front of the engine with the yellow mark on it. If you take the little black plate off that covers the spark plugs you can see the wires for the sensor going into that black box.

(Isuzu TECH) crank sensor is located on the pass side of the block and gets its reading from the crank shaft hence the term crank sensor Camshaft posotion sensor is located behind the timing cover right between the two camshaft sprockets which is where the CMP sensor gets its reading
