Need decisions on92 Ls400 purchase

I need a commuter car and my parents are selling their 92 ls400 for 2,500 bucks. The thing is in excellent condition and runs great but it has 289,000 miles. Should I buy it?? How long do these last???

I dont know if they have already sold it but if I was u I would buy it.
If it has the 1UZ-Fe V8 (which I think all of those LSs have) I've heard of some that have done 300,000 to 500,000 miles before having to be rebuilt, and even then they only require minnor repair.

did you buy it? has it served you well?

my brother bought one with 200k miles and ran great till the end. he sold it to get a yukon and has regretted the sale since. his new car has spent more time in the shop then the road, LS 400 is not only a cool car but a reliable car.

also got a 92 LS400...runs great..bit heavy on fuel though..
very comfortable...mine has 240K on it...da V8 is sweet...
no problems and tons of power...
