I could ruin the question count with a silly question, but I wont. Instead I'll say its Mercury and call it a day.

Recap: Mineral, not rare, liquid, sometimes red, not lava, not translucent, and not shiny.

Not shiny and red, I had those backwards then. So its bormine instead of Mercury. (I think Gallium is not red which is the only other liquid mineral)

I've never been outside of the U.S., so I cannot personally confirm that it is found worldwide, but I have no reason to believe that it wouldn't be.

hmmmm.... It almost sounds like transmission fluid, but its not automotive in nature. Its that mineral in nature thing thats throwing me. Liquid minerals are pretty rare. Minerals like graphite, bromine, mercury and such are not man made. I must be confusing elements with minerals.

As a definition What is a mineral?
A mineral is a naturally occurring homogeneous solid, inorganically formed, with a definite chemical composition and an ordered atomic arrangement.

Definition
naturally occurring--not man made
homogeneous solid--one composition and not a liquid or gas
inorganic--not animal or plant
definite chemical composition--not fixed KAlSi3O8 (Mg,Fe)2SiO4
crystal structure--atoms bonded together in regular geometric pattern

So - by definition it cant be a mineral so give me back those questions. Gimme gimme gimme gimme. :D
