Just found this site surfing for a cold air intake for my 2004 gtp comp G, also read about people asking what can a GP beat, I have beaten a
SLK mercedes,
Mustang GT (2003),
a Mach 1 mustang 2003 (no Sh**)
almost every neon with a fat pipe in this town
2004 Aucura TL

I think this car can beat any V-6 made (stock) and any V-8 up to 330hp. My budy has the mach 1, he took off, and I stayed in his a** until I had to slow down from ramming him.

Anyway, where can a get a cold air intake for this car?

3800performance.com is the best place to get a CAI for your car, I have an MSP and LOVE it... you can see vids of it, and how it sounds on my site

this site has alot of available parts for our fun little rice killers
www.pfyc.com (http://)
you might want to consider a ram air induction as well you get more horse power but it can be a little pricey. one question though how do you like the paddle shifting in your comp g

The Ram Air has been proven not to do anything on our cars since there is no way to force more air into the manifold than they blower will allow, if it was a NA engine that would be the case...

pfyc is a great store to buy from as well, check them out, enjoy the CompG, fun huh? lol

check out www.clubgp.com (http://www.clubgp.com) lots of 04 info..

It will just have to go towards that intercooler I have had my eye on but explaining to the wife why I need cooler air in the combustion chamber is posing a problem

go for the thrasher intercooler or the MAP engineered one, the others don't work very well. and dont offer fuel routing solutions...

I was looking at the MAP intercooler. It seems like the one to go with

the MAP is definitely the one to go with, they are modeling one for my 04, our sc's are different..

Well I read if you get a chip from the gio...something company, you can bypass the GP's computer systems that adjust to a ram air/cold air system. They say after 200 miles, the car adjust to the cold air intake and just let less air in.

First mods are:

pulley
pulley belts

muffler/pipes (cosmetic)

intercooler in 2004 esp. since I am moving from colorado to Texas, Florida or AZ dont know yet.

oh it is stock, and forgot to list beating an Acura RSX-R, and a maxima 2003 that I thought was 260 hp?

CompetitionGroup

a chip?? I have no knowledge of any type of software upgrade for an 04 GTP, tell me more :)

ram air doesn't work, it's just cold air, but there is no way to force the air into the manifold past the blower.

You'll see, HP means nothing, the maxima's are not very good competition, but then again i don't remember my car when it was stock, I had mods waiting at home for it when i bought it lol

A Granatelli Motorshorts air flow sensor chip

Just between the stock filter and the intake to the engine is a plastic hose with a chip on the end that controls the air intake.

Ram air does something because before the GTP I has a 2000 grand prix SE and my older brother had a Grandprix GT (w/ram air) and my twin has a 96 GT with ram air and they both were faster from 0-20 and 20-40. But I think the air flow chip restricts the cars that are super charged. The grandprix GTX was supercharge with ram air and had 300hp out of a 3.8L series 2 engine. Some say the granatelli chips only work in firebirds, camero's, and corvette's..?

Also I read that there is a throttle control attached to the eaton super charger that GM put there and from the factory, it is set all the way down, but you can turn it up, know anything about that?

These guys sell the best intercooler on the market at the moment, and its proven almost twice as effective as the map intercooler, and just as effective as the thrasher at half the price.

Edit: my mistake, I am not sure if ZZP make an intercooler for the '04 yet. Email [email protected] to find out (note the three o's)

Yeah no 04 intercooler yet from Zooomer. I have already paid for one though, just waiting... and waiting... Bill?
