Check Sahleen, or Sahline on a web search. Its a place in PA, state may be wrong, that refurbs police vehicles and then resells them police departments, or public safety department. Sell trannys & engines with warranties.

Let me guess, the 1-2 upshifts are HARSH, but the others are ok.
If that is it, the accumulator spring has broken, and the repair is EASY. If you can change your own ATF, you can fix it.
Go to www.tccoa.com and check out their tech sections, specifically "transmissions". the infor contained therin was authored by one of the ford engieers on the 4R70W design team, and it is the BEST resource for them on the entire world wide web.

Hi
I have a 94 Crown Vic PI. When I first bought it 4 years ago, It bucked and jerked. I thought for sure it was the transmission, until I came across this web page: http://www.geocities.com/bruzilla/ignition.html (Bob Bruzilla's Interceptors Homepage) It wasn't transmission at all, but it needed a tuneup. Tuneup cured the problem. Four years later it is just staring to jerk again--I know it needs a tuneup.

Mine seems to reach a high rpm before shifting into final gear at times. Sometimes it sounds kinda like a clunk when it shifts into 2nd or 3rd (can't remember for sure). Sometimes when i'm sitting at a traffic light with my foot on the brake, it feels like i'm getting bumped in the rear end. I took a tranny guy for a ride in it...he hooked up some kinda monitor under the dash & it showed rpm's when shifting along with some other stuff. He said the tranny sounded strong & it wasn't acting up enuf to warrant any problems. He changed the filter & put in 5 qts. of Type F, tho, too...hehehe.
Gonna take it to the ford garage & hope I don't get raped to have them unhook the lines & drain it completely & put the proper fluid in it. Hopefully I can catch 'em when they're having a special or sumpin.
