I was planning on building a CRVTEC motor for my car. I want to make it F/I so i was wondering what is the ideal compression ratio for the motor?..? It's a b20z block with a b16a or b if i can find one head. Also i was wondering if there are any special parts i need and such. Also any info if anybody has built one for turbo. Thanks! -97HCiViC

How far are you wanting to take it? How much you willing to spend?

get a big hairy T3/T4 turbo with $9K you can easily get a turbo kit and build up the block to get you into the 13's. I think you're biggest concerns will be forged rods and pistons, resleeving the cylinders and getting the block decked. That should give you a pretty strong block so you can up the boost at the track. I suggest you run somewhere between 9.2:1 - 9.5:1 CR. A lot of other things go into calculating CR, so just try to get it somewhere between those two numbers. That way you aren't a total dog off of boost. However, you can run semi high compression and still have a reliable vehicle as long as it's tuned properly.
