i have a 92 integra ls with a brand new clutch in it. i have $5000 dollars to play with and i definately want to swap in an engine and then turbo the motor. i was thinking some sort of b18 but im not sure. what do you guys think for an engine and then what turbo. If necessary i can extend my budget but i would like to keep it to 5k. thanx guys, any help from knowledgeable people is appreciated.
p.s also what type of horse power could i expect from whatever engine and turbo u reccomend

uh if its a 92 teg ls uh you should have a b18 in there already so just go for a turbo setup dont worry about swapping

They arent as strong as the b18b's and you probly have a good amount of miles on it right? You could fortify the internals or swap, and then turbo it. Did you want an engine with VTEC.

the best is expensive. Just fortify you're engine with strong internals. Rods, pistons, bolts, sleeves, etc. etc.

cheapest way would be to swap a b18b1 w/ lower miles, and turbo that.
u'd be into the 13's w/ that set-up alone (w/ stock internals).

is the b18b1 the same engine in a gsr?

no, the b18b is not the same as a gsr... it is rated at 142 hp and like 127 trq i believe. the gsr is a good bit more than that and quite a bit more expensive as well. it is said that a b18b can handle as much as 12 psi of boost on stock internals, to put one in your 92 though I am pretty sure you are going to be playing with the obd computer jazz... (I think yours is obd0, I know the b18b is at least obd1, the newest may even be obd2 but I am not sure of that)

the 94-96 integra ls rocked the b18b1 that came w/ 142/127 (obdI). the 97-up came w/ 140/127 (switched to obdII, but was still the b18b1).
the motor CAN take up to 12 PSI on stock internals, but as always, the more u build the motor, the safer u'll be.

Almost. The 96 ls is the first to sport the OBDII system

the only diffrence between the b18b of 91-93 integras vs the others is, the fuel rail is bigger, along with the intake manifold, and the throttle body. Block stays the same. head is diffrent too.
94-96 integras come obd 1. that means thorottle body on 94-96 is diffrent. 98+ have obd 2. that means 2 o2 sensors, even more sensore, same parts other than the throttle body, and the intake manifold has more sensores as well.
