928 v8 into 944?

i've got a wrecked 928 with a good engine & tranny, and a buddy(who owns a 944) had asked if i'd sell it to him for an engine swap. i was wondering if anyone has any info on this, i've heard of it being done but can seem to find any kind of instruction. thanx.

The 928 engine will not fit into a stock 944. Some people have done chevy small block V8 conversions, but the 928 motor is too wide to fit. Kelly Moss Racing is the only place I have ever seen a 928 motor put into a 944... but the whole front end was a custom tube frame assembly with no trace of the original frame left.
