let's suppose your at a rail road crossing and and your late for work (or somen like that) and you diside to take a chance and go across the tracks while the gates are down, would you do it?

Because in my town a few weeks ago some guy(19) on his semi new motercycle disided to do that so he would not be late for work. Unfourtently he was hit by a train and died and it was an extremely horrific site, piecses of him and his bike were everywere. What makes the story real sad was he was a whell liked person who had his whole life ahead of him but that was ended when he wanted to get to work faster

Precisely why I don't work anymore.

Uh... kidding of course.

I wouldn't do it, but I see people do it all the time...

Oh, and for the record, just about everyone was "well liked" after they die, even if they were a total asshole. Nobody wants to speak ill of the dead.

I still fail to see how people get nailed by trains at crossings... they're very obvious, unless its a "tight" corner. Heck, i still sit on rails with my friends and we wait until the very last second to get up and away from the freight trains that roll through..

I agree. If your gonna try and beat the train, why decide to do it when its only 15 ft away?

Sometimes it can be hard to see a train, even with straight track at the crossing, trees, buildings, even boxcars just waiting on a track next to that which the train is on can do a good job to hide the train until you're practically standing on the tracks in front of it, and this is precisely why you never want to run through a crossing just to save five minutes.
And you'd have to be stupid to do so, because even if you can't see it, you know it's there! If the crossing gate is lowered, and the lights are flashing, and bells are ringing, not to mention the sound a locomotive makes you'd be pretty stupid to assume that the train is still very far away.

perhaps hard to see... but even deaf people can hear one of those bitches go by. When the ground shakes, that probably means that the train is a bit too close for comfort. My ex..er.. freind with benefiets... hehe, anyway, 50 feet from the back of her house are the main rails that I mentioned before. You can feel it in the ground when those things come. And they blow their damn whistle too, which makes the ears bleed. Heh, There's less of an excuse to get hit at night, because the engines have a LOT of forward facing lights. Very bright. :icon16:

They should issue safety locks or outlaw trains entirely. They are causing needless deaths in the hands of the wrong people. People don't need trains around their homes. Only the police need those trains.

Oops. I confused the gun arguement with the anti traing crowd.

Hey, I'm smart. I never keep my locomotive loaded when I'm not using it.

1. Your spelling needs a lot of work
2. I have no objection to actions such as these. Call it gene-pool improvement. The especially good news is Darwin's natural selection laws are at work because at 19, hopefully he didn't have a chance to breed.

Of course, how silly of us to wish you be considerate of others by using correct grammar  At least spell right, I mean that doesnt take much does it? I guarantee that people will care less about the punctuation and such if all the words are spelled correct. BTW it's really obvious that you misspelled the words in that quote to spite what Oz said.

Anyways, on the topic, I dont understand why people try and beat trains either. Seems stupid to me. I mean, come on, what's the point? Beat the train and feel cool? Yippie

How come I'VE never been lucky enough to grow up around any stuff like train tracks, or Palm trees?! It just always seemed kinda interesting to me, you know, goin down to walk the tracks, hitch on the cars, meet hobos, bust up derelict train stations, come across bodies and whatnot. A far as the palm trees, I'm just jealous, because I see them in so many sig pictures... palm trees= tropics... and we don't have palm trees in New England :disappoin
