I just bought a used key FOB controller for my '93 J-30. The guy gave me some instructions to re-program but I have been unsuccessfull. His instrcutions are:

1) Get in car and lock all doors
2) insert key into ignition switch quicky 6 times(hazard warning lamp is supposed to blink twice...my didnt')
3) Press lock button on key Fob.

This is supposed to delete the old codes and install the new codes. Any ideas?

I found the instructions on another Thread on this forum..shouldv'e looked first...

While sitting in the vehicle:

1. Open the trunk

2. Close and lock all doors

3. Insert and remove the key from the ignition six times within 10 seconds

4. Manually unlock and lock driver's door once to enable "setting" mode

5. Push lock button on the new remote controller once, just long enought to hear it beep (BTW, mine didn't beep! Don't worry!), within 5 seconds of completing step 4

6. If additional remotes are needed (up to 3), repeat steps 4 and 5 for each additional remote immediately after programming the first remote (note: a total of four (4) remotes can be programmed to funtion on the same vehicle)
