I've been painting piece by piece of my plasticl and vinyl interior for the last couple of months and I've decided it is time to work on the fabric on my door panels - any ideas on how I can color/dye it?

Should I just confer with an local upholstry store?

I used fabric dye on my interior ... It turned out good but the fabric did not feel like original fabric, it was a little rough ... I would get it reupholstered if i were to do it again ...

My server just went down ... I'll post you a pic when i get it working ..

Yea they do and it's called

VINYL DYE and they come in all sorts of colors.

Since I am a professional at this I will tell you SOMETHING do NOT use VINYL DYE it will eventually fade and SMELL LIKE SHIT because it's is basically like paint.

I had a customer who came to me with the SHITIEST INTERIOR on a 2000 Civic (he got it proffessionally dyed) and 1 year later it started to smell and fade and the colors started to fuck up and i had to re do the entire thign cuz it got fucked.

IF U CAN'T AFFORD A REAL VINYL REPLACEMENT I say either do it at ur own risk or SAVE UR FUCKIN' MONEY AND DO LET A PROFFESSIONAL DO IT.

If u are doing it yourself i suggest a old car or get somethign to practise on.

if doing it on your own the best would be to go out a buy some vinyl and take your other vinyl out and re cover the area?

Yes, it would best that you re-vinyl the desired area either by yourself or by a professional.

Yes that would be right. BUT THERE IS ONE MORE THING

re-vinyling does not only involve VINYL and ur done IT also INVOLVES PADDING so u can put it between the plastic and the vinyl to make it look OEM.

ALSO I SUGGEST STARTING OF in or ON a small piece of the car and then when u master it then go ahead and go crazy on it cuz if u don't do it rite ur SCREWED.
