I am having a stalling problem with my olds. After driving for several miles it will stall when I stop at a stop sign. I get a message that reads "Hot...AC Dissabled" But the engine temp is normal. It is not setting any codes, but I put an EGR valve on it and that wasn't it. I am also getting an exhaust or a fuel smell,so I replaced the vapor canister, and still have the smell. I don't think it's the cat. converter because I Had the same problem with a taurus and gutted the cat. converter and that wasn't it. I recently did an engine swap because of a broken rod,and the newer engine had all of the sensors etc. still on it,but the stalling is the same as before. Has anyone else got the "Hot...AC Dissabled" message? I use this car on my mail route and it is driving me crazy!

A few years ago I was working on an A/C This thing would NOT come on.After scanning the car I found the temp the computer was reading was might higher than the gauge was showing. The car didn't have the ability to say what yours did but it wouldn't come on. You probably have a temp sensor and a temp sender one for the comp one for a gauge. I put the temp sensor in the freezer for a bit plugged back in and the computer it still read high. Replaced the computer and the car was fine.If you still have the old motor I would try swapping the sensors to see if that changes anything. If that doesn't work have it looked at.
