I have a question about the chevy colorado if anyone can answer it that would be great.

I read that the manual tranny will have a short throw shifter, is this going to be a shorter version of a truck shifter or will it be like the type of shifter that is seen in cars?

s-series t5 would be very close to or same as car t5 shifter, nothing like the old C/K series truck 4 speed shifters in which were top loaders, cars and s-10 manual trannies were all side loaders with external linkage

I saw the Colorado at Auto Expo 2004 at Nassau Coliseum last weekend....damn, forget that ugly thing........I'll ditch that and buy the all-new Nissan Titan - 305 hp, 395lb-ft of torque, 9,400 lbs of towing capacity............forget the Colorado. They should only sell that thing in Colorado.

I think the shifter in the new Colorado might be set into the dash or the lower part of the center console (below the radio, air controls) if it is going to be "short-throw". Probably though, it will just have a short linkage to make it seem like short throws.
More interestingly, the Colrado and it's GMC sibling will be available with 3 engines...inline 4, inline 5, and inline 6, all based on the exact same cylinder geometry...basically ,that means that the 5 is just the 4 with one more cylinder, the 6 with 2 more. However, initial reports and info reveal that these may be the best truck engines GM has ever produced. The 5cyl is said to be extremely smooth and have an incredible torque curve. It will be cool to hear people talk about how they love their new 5 CYLINDER truck. hehehe
