Here is my AMT Supra kit about 90-95% complete. I just need to spray gloss on the body, add the windows, detail the lights, and some small odds and ends.
Paint is House of Kolor True Blue Pearl over Pearl White.
I added details such as detailed wiring in the engine, carpet in the interior, added wires for the amps and NOS tanks. Added details on the dash to make it look more realistic. Painted details on the seats.
I should have the kit completed and ready for outside pictures by next weekend. The gloss I use I dont like to handle it for a least a week after I shoot the gloss.
Enjoy and any coments are welcome!!

Thanks, the wires were all added on. The AMT Supra kit has a very basic engine (BTW is too small for the engine bay) and has no detail as far as wiring. I spent 4-5 days looking over pictures and adding wires to make it look some what realistic.

Thanks! I use Duck professional brand masking tape. The 3/4 inch wide plain jane masking tape. The trick is the paint and the application of the paint. The tape is good at holding back paint sprayed through an airbrush and wont lift off paint from uder the tape. However I dont recomend you use it with spary cans, unless you are using Tamiya spray.
I use Lacquer paint that dries very fast, in fact it is so fast at drying it has no time for the paint to seep under tape edges. I have used Tamiya spary bomb and it too has no problems with this tape.
My best advice is to test out various paints with your tape to see what works best for you.

So you think it would fit all right in a corolla/trueno 1/24?

Hopefully not a daft question, but do you cut the shape in the masking tape before or after putting it on the car ?

No not a daft question at all. I have a system that I have in place to make my graphics as where I lay a piece of tape over the body where I want my graphics, then draw the graphics out on the tape using a pencil. Once drawn I remove the tape and place it on a piece of glass. (I use a piece a glass from a 9x12 frame) I then corect any flaws in the pencil lines and then make a copy of the design for the other side of the body using see-thru copy paper. I trace the design in pencil then flip it over onto another piece of tape and rub the back of the copy paper to place the image onto the tape. I also correct this image then cut both out using a new blade in my x-acto. Once cut I carefully remove the graphics and place them back on the body where I want them and then paint.

Well yes and no. House of Kolor paint does have to be sprayed through a airbrush, but you can also buy in a spray can. I perfer the airbrush because I have more control over what Im painting as aposed to spray cans. You can buy House of Kolor paint here ----> http://www.blackgoldweb.com
I use a 1/1 ratio on lacquer thinner to HOK paint.

I would think that Tamiya primer would be ok. I have used several different types of primer and the HOK paint seem to work just fine over them. I am using right now Krylon all pourpose primer (the type that can be used for wood, metal, plastic) and the HOK paint goes on fine.
