I have a 1997 blazer, 4wd, 4.3 vortec 72000 miles. The check engine light came on & I am getting a code of: P-0440 Evap Emission Control System Malfunction. Any solutions? The idle is real rough & kinda shakes the truck, boggy on take off, but, only sometimes. I have already replaced the, control module on the coil, fuel relay, pcv, & ignition switch. Thanks, Dan

Sounds like you have a problem with the EGR valve. I had the same problem yesterday and cleaned the EGR so it can close properly.

The P0440 code is for a gross leak in the EVAP system...(Usually this code comes up when the gas cap is left loose) But it can be caused by other things.
The only proper way to diagnos an EVAP system problem is to use an EVAP tester which injects smoke into the EVAP system and is veiwed under hi-intesity light
As far as the running rough, this may or may not be related to the code
Check for vacum leaks as a starter
The EGR sticking open can also cause a rough idle complaint. It's fairly easy to pull off and inspect.
