I just got off the honda scene, and got me a plymouth laser rs. It's a 1990, sohc. It's just to weak, and not enough power. I want to swap a dohc turbo on it. Can I swap any eclipse or talon turbo engines on it.
I'm not too familiar with this car, so if any of you could help me i'd appreciate it.
P.S: If you could provide engine codes as well, and sites to help me out.

thanks

hi so you just bought a new eclipse, and you want a new engine have you ever heard of the cyclone engine. it is freaking sweet it is made by mitsubishi and it is has 225 hp at 6000 rpm and 214 torc at 3000 rpm. it comes strait out of japan with 30,000 miles on it so you dont have to break the engine in. and it all so comes with a transmission. so if you would like to get your hands on one off this sweet engines let me know [email protected] :evillol:

But here's the thing. My car is 1.8L SOHC plymouth laser, which is the same as a talon and an eclipse, right? How hard is it to do the change. I've been reading a lot on this, but all i've got in negative posts. I don't know the first thing abbout dsm cars. I just sold my civic SI that a had for two years, and bought this other car, and thought it might be worth spend some money on it. Could u tell me more or less the cost of the whole set up, and more or less how much in labor. I'd appreciate it. And if possible and if it sounds reasonable we can talk business.

thanks

Well you need the engine, wiring harness, ecu, all acceories on the engine, Im not sure if you need a tranny and associated parts.

well you will need to buy a wireing harnnes and the enigine will come with a transmission and sensers, you will need to put exhaust on it. and you might have to modify the motor mounts, you will jus thave to find out how much a wiring harnes is make sure you look around for that but you may have to go to the dealer for that time i have it will take a littel while but it would be lots of fun o and you might have to find a front end to take the cv axles of and breaks. but you could get all that at a salvage yard for pretty ceap. or you could buy the 2.0 cyclone engine non-turbo and you could just bolt it in. and it would save you alot of money but it wouldn't as fast as the turbed one. if you would like to talk a littel more abought this e-mail me at [email protected] have a good day

When you are trying to make a lot of power, the cyclone intake manifold is too resrictive. Take that manifold off, and this "cyclone motor" is no different than any other 4g63. And you need the jap ECU and all of the vacuum controls to make the manifold work properly. Not friggin worth it ;)

the engine swap is fairley easy compared ot others. the motor mounts line up exactly on all talon laser eclispe .. doesnt matter engine type either. the tranny on the 1.8 wont line with the turbo and it is wekeer so u need a turbo tranny also. other than that and electircal it bolts riht up.
