Hello fellow modelers .. I have a question. I use paintbrush and I currently paint with Tamiya acrylic paints and I am wondering, if I should worry if I get a bloody nose after I paint. Is it because I am smelling too much of this stuff? SHOULD I WORRY?! AM I GOING TO DIE!? :uhoh:

thats what happens when you are working with such strong agents. When I did backstage for the school theatre productions, I occasionally got a bloody nose after painting. But then again I got a bloody nose from studying too much Biology, so yeah, hehe...
The only thing you can really do is make sure you are in a well ventilated room, and also make sure that you are not too close to the paints, that is don't have your face right in front of the model.
Hope that helps

This has to be the most RIDICULOUS poll I've ever seen on here!
It says right on the bottle, let alone common sense, "DO NOT INHALE VAPORS"
I'm sorry if I'm coming off like a prick but, common sense rules here . . .

Well if you were asking if it was a problem that you pissed blood or that your ass bled every tiem you went to take a crap I think you would know the answer.
Damn man if your nose bleeds there is a problem for sure, paint of any type is toxic and should be treated with caution. Some people are fine with it and others more allergic. Some guys paint with no mask for years and then become allergic all of a sudden.
FOr god sake get a mask meant for vapors and paint and wear it every time you paint, otherwise IO am sure you are in for future health porblems

Instead of you wasting your time asking this I would have gone to Home Depot and bought a respirator. It's your health and there is no need to screw yourself over a piece of plastic.
Go get the respirator

Crap, OK.. thanks.. for your.. helpful negative replies. I also didn't know where to get a mask in Canada,QC.. because.. most of you I thought were in USA.. and... I don't have a home depot near me.. I guess I'll wait for my new house to be built.. I'm planning to set up my stuff in the garage.. where it should be a "VENTILATED AREA" ..
Anyways.. OK.. =)..

you should wear a painting gas mask when painting if this is the case. if i wear you i wouldn't inhale too much more of that.......most paints including tamiya say right on the back "may cause cancer, or birth defects"
i dont think you have to worry about giving birth...but i wouldn't take the risck of having cancer to have a cool model.
