98 Civic EX Keyless Entry / Cd player problem

My friend took out their factory Headunit. On a 98 Civic Ex With doing this the keyless entry now does not work. Is there a way of fixing this?

u need a harness that connects the radio to the aftermarket one, i had to do the same thing, the radio needs to be put behind the dash somewhere, mine is behind the center part of the dash, like where the cup holders are and the power outlet is. you will also need to reprogram the keyless entry now. let me know if you need to know how to do that also.

yep, thats exactly what we did. Its just i thought there might be another way. Owell. Kinda strange wiring that the keyless is attached to the headunit. Thanks tho.

yea not sure what honda was thinking when they put the wiring for the keyless entry through the headunit, but i am glad you got it working, there really isnt a way around that kinda stupid, but o well

does it also affect the dome lights automatically coming on when the doors open?

can anyone tell me where to get this harness
