Panoz began in 1989, I think. They didn't start selling cars till much later, though.

Yes, the AIV and the Esperante are the only two production cars right now.

Hey,

I live about thirty minutes from the plant so... if anyone wants brochures and stuff I know Danny Panoz himself and stuff so its sweet. They have made a road version of the GTR-1 race car that raced back in the 90's. Its at the plant. Its sweet!!!!!!!!!:D Its only like over one million bucks so....:p

Simon Tibbett

Hey,

The base price is I believe to be $54,000 or around there. Thats for the Roadster.:)

mmm... Reasonable, about £40k, but to have a RHD model would probably be far more expensive, about £60?

Simon Tibbett

More then likely, plus shipping if your getting it from the US. Unless thats calculated.

By the look of its skinny frame, they would probably have to redesign the whole car :o

Why cant you just have a LH drive car over there?:) ;)

I own a '93 Roadster and I THINK it is from the first production year.

But... not sure.

The Roadster did not officially go into 'mass' production until 1996. The Panoz family invited specific Ford dealers to a dinner/unveiling at their winery, Chateau Elan, in Braselton, Ga. on September 8, 1996. Danny and his team had been building a few each year prior to 1996. With the help of Jack Roush, Panoz had gotten Ford to agree and acknowledge that they could and would service the Roadster at most dealerships. I own a '93 Roadster and I THINK it is from the first production year.

But... not sure.

Actually the AIV Roadster was taken out of production in 1999. There are rumors floating around that an improved version may return in the future.

I know for a fact that Panoz would have no problem federalizing their cars in the UK since they use a lot tried and true parts instead of questionable machinery. But, Panoz has only made about 500 cars almost 8 years, so I don't think Panoz could take on having to up production for Europe.
