Whats up enthusiasts? Im new here I have a 1997 eclipse GS much different from the chevys im use to but itas a lot of fun. Just put a newer motor in because i sucked up water through my cold air intake and threw a rod :banghead: . So now Im going with a short ram how do they perform? :feedback:

which short ram air are you going with? I'd go with the AEM intake, ive heard good stuff about them. It wont be as good as the COLD air intake but it will do fine. How did you suck up water thru your intake???? :disappoin

we have severe rain here in Florida and floods alot in some areas. I happened to go through a spot about 10 12 inches because i could not see it due to rain and my AEM cold air sucked up the water. I later heard about the bipass valve but was told for the amount of water I took in even it would not have helped; so I am going to go with the AEM ram air. There is more torque with it an d basically the same HPi do have a full exhaust and new plugs and wires plus a chip so im doing ok. at the present time im running about 110mph in second gear w/o redlining so I'm doing good, Do you think?

whoa, 2nd gear doing 110mph w/o redlining????? Thats insane, dont blow a piston.....

I cannot stand AEM. I think you are basically just spending extra money on just a name. I would go with something like rs akimoto or iceman. These are cheaper and has the same amount of performance.

Yea right!!! maybe in third but there is no way in second... you'd be doing 50 in first and there is no way!! unless you have it geard differently... cause i have a RS and i can get 70mph tops out of second and i have a turbo!

Thanks for the input everyone. Do you really think that the iceman intakes are just as good as the AEM? For those of you finding it hard to beleive my car in second gear; does running with a mustang gt mean anything?
